10. Robbie Robertson - 'How to Become Clairvoyant'
This album tries to tell that you first need to find where you‘ve been and only then you will know where you are heading. This is Robertson‘s fith solo album and features such stars like Angela McCluskey, Trent Reznor, Robert Randolph, Eric Clapton, Rocco Deluca, Tom Morello, Steve Winwood, and Taylor Goldsmith of Dawes. Robertson performed with the band Dawes "He Don't Live Here No More" on ABC's The View and on CBS's Late Show with David Letterman.

9. Wild Flag - 'Wild Flag'
Wild Flag is the first album from American band called Wild Flag and is considered as indie rock guitar record of the year. "Listen to the music before it passes you by" says one of the artists. Wild Flag received a very positive reception from various critics, which is shown by its normalized rating of 83 out of 100 based on 37 reviews by the Metacritic. Pitchfork put the album at number 49 on its list of the "Top 50 albums of 2011".
8. Wilco - 'The Whole Love'
This is the eighth album release by American alternative rock group called Wilco. The Whole Love received a nomination in the 54th Grammy Awards forBest Rock Album. Uncut placed the album at number 15 on its list "Top 50 albums of 2011". Mojo placed the album at number 29 on its list "Top 50 albums of 2011."

7. The Decemberists - 'The King Is Dead'
The King Is Dead by The Decemberists is their sixth studio album. It is described as the "most pastoral, rustic record they have ever made". Uncut placed the album at number 26 on "Top 50 albums of 2011" list. Track "Down by the Water" was nominated for Best Rock Song at the 54th Grammy Awards.
6. Lady Gaga - 'Born This Way'
Born This Way is the second studio album by Lady Gaga. This album debuted in the top 5 spots of every major market, Billboard 200 included. Greg Kot of the Chicago Tribune felt that the album was rushed, and described it as "hyperventilating". Kot expressed that it felt like the sound "of a major artist sprinting to please everyone all the time." Randall Roberts of the Los Angeles Times told that Gaga was lacking in innovation, stating that "musical adventure is not one of her strong points."
5. Radiohead - 'The King of Limbs'
The King of Limbs is the 8th studio album by English rock band Radiohead and was produced by Nigel Godrich. The album debuted at number 6 on the Billboard 200 in the United States with 69,000 copies in first-week sales. The King of Limbs has been nominated for 5 categories in the 54th Grammy Awards:

4. Fleet Foxes - 'Helplessness Blues'
Helplessness Blues is the 2nd studio album by Washington-based folk band called Fleet Foxes. The album has received critical acclaim on its release, and it has an average score of 85 on the review siteMetacritic, indicating "universal acclaim." Andy Gill of The Independent gave the album 5 out of 5 stars, and stated the "group manage to make giant strides creatively without jettisoning their core sound." The Guardian was positive about the album, and called it "almost laughably beautiful."
3. Paul Simon - 'So Beautiful or So What'
So Beautiful or So What is the 12th studio album by Paul Simon. So Beautiful or So What got general acclaim from music critics. At Metacritic it received an average score of 85. Pitchfork Media's Stephen M. Deusner said that the album "can be stodgy in its emotions and a bit too devoted to its motifs", but complimented its themes of mortality and spirituality.

Despite noting "a relative lack of structural variety within the songs," Los Angeles Times writer Randall Roberts found its production "captivating" and called the album "a cocksure, fiery, smart, if problematic, collaboration that showcases the pair's distinct lyrical skills."

21 is the 2nd studio album by English recording artist Adele. 21 garnered general praise from music critics: according to Metacritic, the album received an average score of 76 out of 100 based on 34 reviews. Adele's vocal performance was received very favourably. The New York Times' chief music critic Jon Pareles commended the singer's emotive timbre and wrote, can seethe, sob, rasp, swoop, lilt and belt, in ways that draw more attention to the song than to the singer".

Great list highcalibre! I especially love the Paul Simon, Wilco and Fleet Foxes albums from last year. I'll have to take a look at "Wild Flag", ive hadn't heard of them before reading this hub.
